SEO Services: The Six Sigma Methodology

Before considering the use of any link building or social media marketing company, you owe it to yourself to check out its processes. At Measurable SEO, we rely on Six Sigma, the measurable difference that distinguishes us from the others.

What is the Six Sigma Methodology?

The Six Sigma methodology essentially measures quality that strives for near perfection. It is a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects (driving toward six standard deviations between the mean and the nearest specification limit) in any process.

Why does Measurable SEO use the Six Sigma approach?

The process is specific, the tasks are time phased, and the results are clearly measurable. The Six Sigma process ensures the right marketing approach is employed from the outset of your marketing campaign, and is then executed effectively to achieve optimal results. To properly execute the Six Sigma method requires a team approach. Measurable SEO is proud of its team of professionals who have the background and expertise in all aspects of link building and social media marketing.

The Team

You: Website owner, business/e-commerce manager. Often a non-technical person. Defines goals and objectives. Approves the budget.
SEO Team Leader: Keeps project schedule on track by coordinating with team members. Formulates SEO plans, including the optimization of content and building links. Reviews Google analytical data to find or confirm problems early, to stay on track.
SEO Specialist: Works closely with team leader. Ensures all strategies for corrective action are valid and realistic. Executes the plan.
Content Specialist: Works closely with both the team leader and SEO specialist. Looks for opportunities to add or improve content. Content ranges from articles to link bait to blog posts, as well as Widgets.

The Six Sigma Process

Define: Correctly defining the problem is the first step in producing a positive outcome. The obvious problem does not always correlate to its root issue. Once the problem is correctly defined, it’s time to produce the deliverable.
Measure: Thanks to Google Analytics, data collection allows for benchmarking and defining success.
Analyze: Your Measurable SEO team conducts a brainstorming session to explore every potential cause of the problem. Once root causes are identified, they are compared against the analytics to find correlation.
Improve: Once the root causes are confirmed, a corrective action plan is formulated to solve the problems.
Verify: We don’t just think we done a good job, then walk away, and forget about it. We check back regularly to confirm all processes are working according to expectations.
Control: Using the Six Sigma method builds in the necessary safeguards into every step of the process, allowing ease of control of the process and its results.

After implementing a Six Sigma SEO program, one can expect to derive some, if not all, of the following benefits:
Higher rankings for targeted keyword phrases
Reduced PPC expenses
More qualified leads
Increased market share
Improved revenues

Who We Are

Chuck Price, Founder & CEO
Chuck is the founder and CEO of Measurable SEO. As a small business owner and internet entrepreneur, he walks daily in the shoes of his clients. No one has a better understanding of the pressures and difficulties faced by small business owners looking to succeed on the web.

Chuck was born and raised in Central New York. He put himself through Delta College (Michigan) as a management trainee for Wickes Lumber. After graduating with a Business degree, Chuck was placed in charge of an unprofitable Wickes Lumber Yard in Menands, NY. Price engineered and implemented a plan that moved this yard from the “to be closed list” to the “top 10″ in just one year. Eight years later, he was in charge of Wickes’ New England District, generating $72 Million in revenues with 300 employees.

In 2006, Chuck joined a small internet marketing company, then known as We Build Pages. As COO, he was the chief architect in engineering the growth of that company from 8 employees to 50 in less than 2 years. In 2009, he partnered with the principal of WBP and formed another highly successful tech company. Chuck sold his interest in that company in 2011, to fund the launch of a new, full service internet marketing company, Measurable SEO.

Active in his community, Chuck currently serves on the local School Audit Committee, has coached baseball & basketball for 10 years and is founder of the A-town Rumble, a moped and scooter rally which serves as a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Chuck and his wife Cindy have two children, Catherine and Connor. Cindy is also active in the community, serving as chair for a number of school and PTA initiatives.
In the local business community, Chuck was a founding member and past chairman of the North Albany Business Association.

Chuck is passionate about delivering measurable results and a positive ROI for clients. He understands the need for every marketing dollar spent to return a dividend. He believes this begins with a comprehensive plan designed specifically to achieve the objectives as specified by the client.

Akansh Karthikeyan, SEO Specialist
Measurable SEO is proud to have SEO Specialist Akansh Karthikeyan on board as part of the team. Akansh holds a masters degree in computer science and has worked with companies large and small to assist them in achieving their internet marketing goals. His deep understanding of search engines allows him to consistently place clients on page one of Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

Akansh is also an accomplished website developer, skilled in WordPress, Joomla HTML CSS, and Flash creation. Achieving first page search results on Google is a competitive passion that is much appreciated by his co-workers at Measurable SEO. His dedication to our mission means he never stops the education process; he’s continuously reading articles, journals, and forums that describe the latest changes, trends, and updates to SEO technologies and website design and development.

Before joining the staff at Measurable SEO, Akansh served as link building executive with ECS Technology and spent several years as web developer / SEO engineer for a top SEO firm. During his tenure there, he received the Best Employee of the Year award for 2010, the result of garnering more search engine first page rankings than any other employee.

Akansh is a family man, with a wife and two children to keep him entertained when he’s not immersed in the work of SEO. He and his family enjoy spending time with his parents at their guest house situated in the midst of a lovely wildlife sanctuary.

As a certified naturalist and avid wildlife photographer, Akansh is particularly fond of his weekends at the wildlife sanctuary, where his interest in tracking wildlife, as well as photographing it, has led him to be an authority on the local birds, insects, and other animals that inhabit or frequent the sanctuary. His dedication to wildlife keeps him busy with continuing education in the world of the naturalist and he generously shares his knowledge of bird watching and the wonders of nature with others.

Horseback riding is another activity that has caught Akansh’s attention but we keep him so busy at Measurable SEO that he doesn’t have as much free time to devote to this activity as he’d like.

Debbie Girard
As far back as I can remember I’ve always enjoyed writing. In the beginning, I wrote short stories (never published). Then, many years later, my husband and I took a yearlong sabbatical to live in Paris, France. During that year, I chronicled our adventure by keeping a daily journal. I still  hope to one day write a book about our adventures living there, as well as chronicling our trips to other  parts of Europe. That was a magical year for us.

In between writing the short stories and the journal, I worked in public relations for a variety of organizations, both in the public and private sectors. I honed my writing skills over the years, writing news releases, fact sheets, speeches, and many other types of writing projects. During the last few years, however, I spent more time writing speeches and developing slide presentations. It’s extremely rewarding when the speaker takes the stage and uses the speech I’ve written pretty much word for word.

Although working in public relations was at times really crazy and more than full time, I managed to achieve a personal goal of mine, and that was to go back to school for my master’s degree. I received an MS in Public Relations and Public Affairs from Golden Gate University, San Francisco.

To be successful in public relations, in addition to being a good writer, you should be pretty confident in communicating verbally, too. Thankfully, I have never been one to shy away from expressing myself, or articulating my ideas, to anyone. Credit this to my coming from a large family of nine children, including six sisters!

In all seriousness, I do indeed enjoy communicating, whether spoken or written. I enjoy the challenge of taking a somewhat complicated (and sometimes technical) topic and writing an article or story using language that the majority of people will understand. I’ve written about a diverse topics food safety issues; the benefits of dredging waterways for better ship passage; how to manage enterprise risk management, etc.
That’s the advantage of being in public relations: if you’re good at what you do, you can easily transfer your communications skills to virtually any industry.

Today, I’m proud to say that I have added some other skills to my writing toolbox, including writing SEO articles as well as other types of copy for the web. What I’ve discovered is that this kind of writing is not so different from the kind of writing I’m used to doing. In the end, it’s really about telling a story. And that’s what I am: a storyteller.
